Worldcoin and Alchemy Partner to Boost Infrastructure for Human-centric Blockchain
Summary:
Worldcoin performs iris-scanning digital identity tech aligns with Alchemy, a Web3 development platform, aiming to enhance the infrastructure of the World Chain ecosystem. This collaboration facilitates immediate developer access to Alchemy's comprehensive Web3 tools, providing better security to self-custodial wallets while incorporating World ID, benefiting millions of developers worldwide. World Chain, a human-centric blockchain, aims to eliminate bots, facilitating developers' direct access to real users.
Worldcoin, the organization famous for its iris-scanning digital identity technology, announced on June 26 a partnership with Alchemy, a leading platform for Web3 development. Their collaboration aims to broaden the infrastructure for the World Chain ecosystem, allowing developers immediate access to Alchemy's complete array of Web3 tools, including core and data APIs, indexing solutions and a suite of other essential applications.
Alchemy's set of tools also features an account abstraction infrastructure geared to enhance the safety and security of self-custodial wallets within the World Chain environment. Furthermore, the integration of World ID, a feature enormously beneficial to millions of global developers, is part of the project.
Expressing optimism about the alliance, Noam Hurwitz, Alchemy's chief engineer, believes the collaboration is a step towards onboarding a billion users and enhancing developers' ability to craft "human-forward applications."
World Chain, a human-centric blockchain, was unveiled in April 2024. Tools for Humanity, a significant player in the World Chain ecosystem, attests the platform will work in harmony with Optimism, Coinbase, and the broader Ethereum ecosystem. It is all part of the Superchain initiative, awaiting transitioning from the OP mainnet. After completing an iris scan from any orbs worldwide, users will receive the unique World ID which will be housed on World Chain, also the future residence of the World App.
World Chain’s system targets humans, providing its holders verified World IDs with a priority blockspace and a free gas allowance for ordinary transactions. This aims to eliminate bots and ensures better access for developers to real users. Steven Smith, the head of protocol at Tools for Humanity, explained that World Chain aspires to become the first and biggest human-designed blockchain with infrastructure suited for large-scale operation.
Smith attributed the partnership with Alchemy to its reputation of delivering "guaranteed uptime and reliability" to many major enterprises. In an upcoming episode of Decentralize, Savannah Fortis, the show's host, speaks with Smith about Worldcoin's efforts to shape the future of decentralized digital identity on a global scale.
