Sky Mavis, creator of the well-known monster-battle NFT title Axie Infinity, revealed on November 2nd that they would be collaborating with South Korean gaming creator Act Games. The goal of this partnership is to incorporate numerous Japanese video game brands into the Ronin blockchain, the home turf of Sky Mavis. According to a Cointelegraph-acquired email, it has been disclosed that Ronin will initially host Zoids Wild Arena. The game, borne from Tomy - Japan's top toy maker's celebrated anime series, originated as a plastic model in 1983. Other favourite franchises soon to join include Hello Kitty Aggretsuko and Bubble Bobble. Trung Nguyen, the CEO and co-founder of Sky Mavis acknowledges the excellence of Act Games in leveraging popular intellectual properties, reaching across all age groups and augmenting player involvement. This strategic coalition enables the melding of their web3 proficiency with nostalgic IPs, backed by an already-established base of fans. Early incentives for this launch involve Zoids NFTs and a token contribution for users who adopt a Ronin wallet for game-play. With a track record of creating four arcade-inspired games, which have achieved net sales of $6.4 million and reached 3 million downloads, Act Games has stood their ground since 2019. On the other hand, since its launch, Axie Infinity by Sky Mavis has achieved an impressive $4.2 billion in NFT sales volume, millions of active users daily at zenith, and a turnover of $1.3 billion. Moreover, its Ethereum Virtual Machine-fueled Ronin gaming blockchain trails only Ethereum itself in NFT sales transactions. Sky Mavis currently operates from Vietnam and Singapore, with significant investment rounds spearheaded by Andreessen Horowitz, Paradigm, Libertus, Mark Cuban, and Binance among others. In related news, Axie Infinity was responsible for nearly two-thirds of all NFT transactions in blockchain games this year.
