Dfinity Foundation and SingularityNET Partner to Improve Decentralized AI Infrastructure

Algoine News
Summary:
The Dfinity Foundation has collaborated with SingularityNET to enhance decentralized AI infrastructure and empower DApps on the Internet Computer blockchain with access to large language models. The initiative encourages transparency and security for AI models, allowing developers to use the ICP network and smart contracts. Additionally, the initiatives will merge their grant programs to advance community developer engagement and offer resources for decentralized AI advancement.
The Dfinity Foundation, a research and development organization, has teamed up with SingularityNET, a blockchain company that focuses on artificial intelligence (AI). Their goal is to enhance the structure of decentralized AI and enable decentralized applications (DApps) on the Internet Computer blockchain to tap into large language models (LLMs). The collaborative project to connect the ICP blockchain with the SingularityNET marketplace was announced on the 20th of November. The initiative seeks to tackle the opacity issue in the training data of AI tools due to its centralization. The partnered companies are confident that decentralizing AI models will enhance their security and transparency. The partnership will allow blockchain developers seeking to integrate with AI to utilize the ICP network. It has been pointed out in the announcement that decentralized AI models on ICP are executed within smart contracts, ensuring that training parameters for the LLMs are secure and open source. Besides blockchain integration, the partnered firms will also unite their grant programs to boost community developer involvement and provide valuable resources to further decentralized AI development. SingularityNET's CEO, Ben Goertzel, emphasized that the majority of experts are expecting AI to achieve human-level artificial general intelligence (AGI) shortly. He stated, β€œIn light of these circumstances, it's crucial to accelerate the process of making advanced AI systems accessible through decentralized networks, which are not owned or controlled by any select group, major tech firms or governmental organizations.” Meanwhile, Dfinity Foundation's founder, Dominic Williams, noted an increase in projects utilizing AI on the ICP blockchain since initiating a $5 million grant in July. According to Williams, their joint initiative with SingularityNET will propel their ambition for decentralized AI forward.
