Artificial Superintelligence Alliance Delays Token Merger, Projects Rapid Advancements in Superintelligence
Summary:
The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) has postponed its token merger to July 15 due to necessary technical and logistical arrangements. The alliance, which includes decentralized platforms SingularityNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol, continues to work towards creating a decentralized superintelligence network, with teams coordinating with centralized exchanges to finalize the process. CEO Ben Goertzel remains confident in the progression towards superintelligence, potentially seeing significant advancements within a few years. He asserts that joining forces with multiple AI and blockchain projects is a strategic move towards developing artificial general intelligence (AGI).
The amalgamation of tokens by The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI), which includes decentralized platforms such as SingularityNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol, has been postponed to July 15. Despite the setback, ASI and SingularityNET's Founder and CEO, Ben Goertzel, spoke to Cointelegraph, expressing confidence that highly advanced superintelligence could be a reality in just a few more years. The holdup, he explained, was due to additional technical and logistical arrangements necessary for a smooth transition. Fetch.ai's CEO, Humayun Sheikh reinforced this, stating that the temporary pause doesn't compromise the significant progress made towards crafting a decentralized superintelligence network. He also mentioned that the teams are actively interacting with centralized exchanges to wrap up the residual steps.
In his dialogue with Cointelegraph, Goertzel clarified their future aims which are directed towards concocting superintelligence utilizing a decentralized platform. Considering this as a mid-term goal rather than an immediate objective, the teams strive to build increasingly smart AI entities operating on decentralized structures, inching closer to universal intelligence. The primary objective is to amalgamate the expertise and resources of all three AI and blockchain ventures in order to facilitate AGI’s (Artificial General Intelligence) evolution.
Goertzel elucidated this strategy by saying that once human-level AGI is accomplished, the system can elevate its intellect, rapidly advancing towards superintelligence. Given the intense competition posed by tech giants with valuations surpassing trillions of dollars, collaborating appeared to be a winning strategy for success.
Discussing the probable timeframe for AGI’s inception, Goertzel opined that it could be within the span of three to eight years. Though an immediate launch seems highly improbable, he was firm that the possibility of it happening only by the year 2100 was equally unlikely. He insisted that they were on the cusp of something big and we could witness extraordinarily superior superintelligence in a few years’ time.
While retrospecting on AGI projections made by American inventor, futurist, and author Ray Kurzweil, Goertzel indicated that Kurzweil may have underestimated the pace at which an AGI could intensify its own intelligence, as Kurzweil had assumed human-level AGI to be achievable by 2029 and singularity by 2045.
Details about the delayed ASI merger will be relayed via official AGIX, FET, and OCEAN channels and the ASI channel.
