To enhance the platform, Arianee embarked on creating an optimized layer 2 framework, powered by Polygon’s zero-knowledge proof Chain Development Kit, since the start of 2023. CEO and co-founder of Arianee, Pierre-Nicolas Hurstel discussed the company's renovated infrastructure, which empowers brands and developers to generate digital passports and tokens that are both adaptable and cost-effective, with links to authentic merchandise and assets.
According to Hurstel, Arianee is primarily dedicated to enterprise and scalable use cases, built on EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine), providing a service that is reliable, universal, and cost-predictable. He highlighted the company's commitment towards supporting brands that are dedicated to scalable, high-performance, and evolving projects, which need an environment that gives them control over efficiency, in terms of costs and energy usage.
The internal protocol token for Arianee will serve as a payment method within the application-specific chain (appchain) of the Polygon CDK, and it's connected to the Aria20 ERC-20 token on the Ethereum mainnet. With the implementation of the layer-2 appchain, brands receive direct support to create and manage their distinctive digital product passports and loyalty tokens.
Currently, over 40 brands including Breitling, Moncler, Yves Saint Laurent, and Lacoste, rely on Arianee's infrastructure. Luxury watch brands such as Breitling use the protocol to issue digital product passports which validate blockchain-based ownership to customers.
These digital passports, also known as nonfungible tokens (NFTs), provide customizable use for their tangible counterparts. As a result, owners get substantial control over their data, allowing them to communicate directly with manufacturers for product repairs, warranties, insurance, other services.
Polygon’s CDK is predicted to enhance scalability and output, fuelled by ZK-proof technology. Brands implementing Ethereum's ERC-721 token to issue NFTs and digital passports can integrate their existing infrastructure to Arianee’s protocol using Polygon CDK.
The revised layer-2 feature provides block space, exclusive to each application on the protocol. This significantly diminishes network activity-related user experience impact. It also reduces the operational expenses related to gas fees and the execution of smart contracts, thanks to Polygon's scaling infrastructure. Recently, in February, Polygon introduced a new Type 1 prover that allows ecosystem chains to access zero-knowledge proof layer-2 capabilities. This open-source technology facilitates the creation of ZK-proofs for mainnet Ethereum blocks with almost no cost.
