Travala Partners with Telegram Open Network, Expands Crypto Payment Options for Travel Booking

Algoine News
Summary:
Travala, a cryptocurrency-focused travel booking firm, integrates with the Telegram Open Network to accept Toncoin (TON) for booking flights, hotels, and tours. This addition joins Travala's existing 127 payment methods, including Bitcoin, XRP, Solana, and Ether. Other innovative applications of blockchain technology in the travel industry are highlighted, including personalized booking solutions through the Camino network, Japan Airlines' unique NFT-based travel experiences, and GroundSync's blockchain project aiming to reduce airline delays.
Travala, the trailblazing travel booking enterprise rooted in cryptocurrency, has declared a partnership with the Telegram Open Network, paving the way for Toncoin (TON) holders to pay for flights, accommodation, and tour packages using their tokens. Prior to this, Travala allowed payments via industry leaders like Bitcoin (BTC), XRP (XRP), Solana (SOL), Ether (ETH), among others. Collectively, Travala offers 127 different payment options for travel booking. On speaking about the partnership, Travala's CEO Juan Otero stated, “We are committed to propelling mass adoption of cryptocurrency and thrilled to join forces with Toncoin, fostering growth of the crypto community and introducing a tangible, real-world application for TON.” Blockchain is emerging as a game-changer in the travel industry, creating new concepts and providing improved client service and streamlined financial processes. For instance, in 2023, Sleap, the AI-driven travel booking platform, revealed its partnership with Camino network, a primary blockchain solution for the aviation sector. The partnership strives to design customised travel bookings for clients, delivering deals straight to their wallets, while concurrently utilizing Camino network’s structure to develop a universal communication standard for hotels, airlines, and local tour operators. Japan Airlines also made headlines in February with the introduction of the Kyoko nonfungible token (NFT) project. The NFT collection provides holders with exclusive access to unique travelling experiences in Japan that are not available through mainstream travel booking platforms and tour agencies. One notable NFT permits holders to spend a couple of days in an old Samurai mansion with a family that carries a 400-year heritage. Another NFT from the Kyoko collection allows holders to collaborate and present artwork with Japan's light artist Yasuhiro Chida at the Tanegashima Space Art Festival, with the opportunity to share the profits from the joint artwork. Simultaneously, projects like GroundSync are trying to tackle expensive airline delays by leveraging the blockchain to record every detail of a commercial plane's fueling and maintenance processes between flights. This move could significantly decrease downtime on the runway and increase profitability, which is often undermined by communication redundancies and delays.
