According to Hollywood Reporter, conversation with main intellectual properties holders and studios have already been initiated by Farah, aiming to work out collaborations with Readyverse. Notable Web3 entities including Dapper Labs, Decentraland, Animoca Brands, and The Sandbox established the Open Metaverse Alliance in 2022 to secure transparency, inclusiveness, democratization, and decentralization characteristics of the metaverse. The same year, it was criticized that the portrayal of the metaverse through Ready Player One's lens might not be a realistic representation. During Korean Blockchain Week 2022, CEO of Everyrealm, Janine Yorio, argued that many metaverses were being produced for desktops as opposed to virtual reality as depicted in the film, giving a glimpse into the metaverse life, yet setting unrealistic expectations.
