A malicious phishing scheme has resulted in the theft of three unique Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, valued at roughly 56 Ether, equivalent to $167,500. Blockchain sleuth, ZachXBT, initially flagged the questionable transaction which involved the transfer of the NFTs from the “tatis.eth” wallet to another wallet known for its association with phishing. The method for the attack remains unclear, but it seems to involve the "Pink Drainer" service, which drains wallets. Phishing scammers often imitate X accounts and crypto project websites like Bored Ape's creator, Yuga Labs', to enticing cryptocurrency users to connect their wallets with the promise of prizes. The three stolen Bored Apes, #7531, #6736, and #2100, possess respective exclusive traits of white fur seen in 4% of Apes, a slight grin present in 3%, and “Bored Pizza” rare to just 0.5% of the 10,000-strong collection, as per OpenSea. In other NFT news, crypto-influencer themed NFT cards known as “fantasy.top” have outperformed blockchain Tron in terms of income over the week. The project, deployed on Coinbase's Ethereum layer 2 Blast, has generated $9.3 million in fees over the past seven days, surpassing Tron’s income of $8.73 million. Cryptocurrency collectors can trade these cards featuring influential personalities in the crypto space, who receive 1.5% of the trading volume and 10% of fees from card packs – groups of bundled cards. Lastly, soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo's bid to dismiss a $1 billion class-action lawsuit tied to his Binance-related NFTs was rejected by a Miami federal judge. Users of Binance lodged the complaint against Ronaldo last November, alleging losses on “unregistered securities” featured on the platform promoted by Ronaldo, who had three NFT collections tied to Binance. In other happenings, Donald Trump hosted a dinner for holders of his NFTs at his residence in Florida. Also, Yuga Labs, the conglomerate behind NFTs, has recently undergone a series of layoffs as it restructures to give more focus to its upcoming Otherside metaverse.
