The move is part of an increasing trend of interest in blockchain gaming tokens.
Overdare, a venture operating in the Metaverse, has teamed up with Circle, the issuer of USD Coin (USDC), to streamline the incorporation of Web3 wallets into their gaming system and facilitate USDC payments for gaming content creators. This collaborative arrangement was made public by Circle on February 26, explaining that its objective is to simplify the receipt of cryptocurrency payments for creators of gaming content. Consequently, Overdare will make use of Circle's Programmable Wallets service, which allows for in-game wallets and the disbursal of creators' payments in USDC. This will afford gaming content creators the opportunity to earn stablecoins for the content they produce. Overdare is an innovative amalgamation of non-fungible token (NFT) Metaverse gaming, born from a partnership between software firm Naver Z and Krafton, a renowned video game publisher famous for launching the celebrated PUBG: Battlegrounds battle royale game. Revealed on September 15, the project is constructed using the Unreal Engine 5 and shares similarities with Roblox in its mobile game format. Apart from the digital wallet solution, Circle also emphasized that Overdare's metaverse game will involve the use of the USDC stablecoin as a secondary method for creators to complete transactions and generate income. The Metaverse company views this as a viable means to assist gaming creators in making the move from Web2 platforms to the Web3 space. Expressing enthusiasm for the alliance with Circle, Overdare's CEO, Henry Park, commended the firm for its adherence to regulatory standards and emphasized that this collaboration would ensure that creators would have dependable access to their earnings. In concert with this, Circle's co-founder and CEO, Jeremy Allaire, voiced his conviction that this collective endeavor could play a part in defining the "digital entertainment of the future" and cultivate a universally accessible Web3 environment. Allaire also indicated that Circle looks forward to enabling Web3 wallets and providing USDC payout support to Overdare to bolster the creative economy. This latest development concerning Overdare has transpired amidst a surge in interest in blockchain gaming tokens. Notably, on February 22, the cryptocurrency token of the Web3 game Pixel got listed on the Binance crypto exchange and achieved a valuation of $2.7 billion, with the PIXEL token hitting a high of $0.53. This marked a substantial increase of more than tenfold from its initial listing price of $0.04.
