Prisa Media’s CEO and Chairman, Carlos Nuñez, labeled this collaboration as an avenue for enhancing audience interaction. He mentioned that, "Leveraging ChatGPT's capabilities allows us to depict our in-depth, quality journalism in different ways, reaching individuals who desire credible and independent content.”
The recently announced affiliations align with OpenAI’s past strategic moves. For instance, the AI company joined hands with the German media behemoth, Axel Springer, in December 2023. The alliance aimed at utilizing content from the media house to accelerate the training of OpenAI’s large language models (LLMs), in order to improve content quality and transparency for users via attributed and linked articles.
OpenAI disclosed, earlier this year, that it was discussing possible alliances with major US media companies, including CNN, Fox, and Time, to procure news content licenses.
