ZachXBT, a cryptocurrency sleuth, pointed out a multichain address on his Telegram channel. This address has managed to rack up over $580,000 in pilfered digital currency since the initiation of these phishing emails.
An advisory about the phishing email was also issued by WalletConnect on X, alerting its users about the malicious airdrop link apparently sent by them. The company clarified, through a social media post, that neither it nor any associated parties had dispatched this email which falsely lured users with an airdrop claim.
Investors are urged to stay vigilant while dealing with emails that announce surprising airdrop events.
