OK Group Consolidates Crypto Ventures, Rebrands Okcoin as OKX in Business Transformation
Summary:
OK Group, a major cryptocurrency exchange operator, is transforming its business by unifying its crypto ventures under the name “OKX.” The company's COO, Hong Fang, announced that Okcoin, established in 2013, will be rebranded to "OKX" in key operational jurisdictions, starting with Singapore, Europe, and the United States, over the coming months. The rebranding aims to enhance the company's business and customer experience, while assuring clients the same product services under the same regulatory framework. This move follows the company's previous rebranding of OKEx to "OKX" in December 2022.
OK Group, a significant player in the cryptocurrency exchange market, is revamping its operations by consolidating all its crypto trades under the name "OKX". The company's Chief Operating Officer, Hong Fang, who is also the President of OKX, disclosed this on X (previously Twitter). Accordingly, Okcoin, established in 2013, will adopt the moniker of OK Group's other crypto initiative, OKX (previously, OKEx).
Fang, who has been a part of Okcoin for half a decade, expressed that the brand and its product have been developed passionately over the years. He also expressed hope that the rebranding in crucial operational areas will yield positive results for both the customers and the business itself.
Starting with Singapore, the corp intends to rename "Okcoin" to "OKX" in the US and Europe, in stages over the forthcoming months, as per Fang. He assures users that they will avail the same product services within the same regulatory parameters, only with a fresh brand identity.
Fang further mentioned that OK Group has recently phased out the brand name "Okcoin" in numerous areas, which include Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Hong Kong, and more.
The company's global strategy has always prioritized the United States. Fang added that the U.S holds a special place for many of the team members and despite various hurdles, the dedication to the U.S, a visionary powerhouse that safeguards individual empowerment and freedom through technology, remains unchanged.
This update comes roughly a year after OK Group rechristened another segment of its business, which was earlier known as OKEx. OKEx was transformed to "OKX" in December of 2022, with the aim of not only being a centralized cryptocurrency exchange but also engaging in decentralized finance, nonfungible tokens, and Web3. OK Group's CEO Star Xu founded the exchange in 2017.
