The directive required the NSF to initiate a trial run for NAIRR within a three-month span. NSF assured its primary focus on endorsing study in the conception of dependable, secure, and harmless AI technology by developing methods for AI testing, evaluation, and verification; enhancing the precision and stability of model performance; and expanding the capacity to ensure planned model behavior. "The NAIRR pilot will promote AI research beyond the limitations of well-equipped universities and privately owned research labs, and will pilot support for computing and data resources for university classrooms," NSF added. In addition to this, Nvidia disclosed another partnership with data center operator Equinix on January 24, where Nvidia promises to equip Equinix's corporate clients with supercomputing systems. Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, announced that generative AI is revolutionizing all industries, and with Nvidia's AI supercomputing and software, and the operational efficiency of Equinix management, enterprises "can now operate in hundreds of data centers worldwide."
