MultiversX and eCornell launch Free Blockchain Education Program for College Students
Summary:
MultiversX, a blockchain network, in partnership with eCornell from Cornell University, has initiated the Blockchain Essentials Program. It offers free blockchain education to 100 deserving college students. Post completion, students may receive mentorship and funding from MultiversX for blockchain projects. The program will run online with limited students ensuring personalized education. Applications for this program, starting on July 17, 2024, are open until June 23, 2024. In another development, MultiversX launched Sovereign Chains to enhance transaction capabilities of second-layer blockchains.
In collaboration with eCornell, a division of Cornell University, MultiversX, a well-known blockchain network, has introduced an educational project on blockchain technology. Branded as the Blockchain Essentials Program, it benefits 100 deserving college pupils with a two-month educational course leading to a certificate once passed. The announcement comes directly from MultiversX.
The new program, sponsored by MultiversX, means students will undergo the course without incurring any expenses. A website for the project reports the usual course price to be $3,750. The online courses will be conducted through small, teacher-guided factions to provide a tailored educational experience in a conducive environment.
One of the most interesting tidbit from the announcement is the potential for students who finish the program to gain mentorship, aid, and financial support from MultiversX for the development of blockchain projects that can uplift their local communities.
The program is scheduled to commence on July 17, 2024, and is accepting applications until June 23, 2024. The applicants must be currently enrolled in a college. Other prerequisites comprise proficiency in English language and being financially inadequate. The program caps its acceptance to only 100 students. MultiversX's CEO, Beniamin Mincu expressed:
"The blockchain realm is wide open for anyone keen to explore it. We're still in the initial stages, but there is ample space for those with inventive ideas to materialize them. Our collaboration with eCornell underlines our dedication to democratize our technology for diverse communities worldwide, and is one facet of how we are facilitating Web3 builders into our ecosystem."
In a side development, MultiversX unveiled "Sovereign Chains," an integrated, multi-chain, modular platform for blockchain construction. As per Cointelegraph, Sovereign Chains can potentially advance the transacting capacity of existing second-layer blockchain systems by upping the transactions per second (TPS) and per second rate of smart contract transactions up to 100-fold.
In its introductory run, Sovereign Chains registered a TPS of 77,000. MultiversX aims to elevate this number to 100,000.
