Mirror World Unveils First Gaming Rollup on Solana with "Sonic" Computation Engine

Algoine News
Summary:
Mirror World is launching the first gaming rollup on Solana via the novel Solana Virtual Machine computation engine, Sonic. This will enable developers to deploy game engines on Solana through the SDK and facilitate in-app transactions. Sonic also serves to expand the Solana Gaming Ecosystem to process millions of game requests per second. Currently, three games have integrated the Mirror World SDK, seeing significant traffic and transaction engagements. Despite Solana becoming a top blockchain by market cap, its gaming activities lag compared to Ethereum.
Mirror World, the platform for Web3 application development, is set to introduce the first gaming rollup on Solana. The rollout, announced on March 29th, will revolve around a revolutionary Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) computational engine, named "Sonic". Sonic enables developers to use the software development kit (SDK) to install game engines or virtual machines on Solana, thereby facilitating in-app transactions. Simultaneously, HyperGrid, which is the foundational technology of Sonic SVM built by Mirror World, provides the framework for gaming platforms to design their custom on-ramp and cross-chain decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregators for in-game interactions on Solana. Currently, the Mirror World SDK has been installed in 50 gaming clients as initial distribution hubs. Mahjong Meta, Matr1x Fire, and Seraph/ActozSoft are three games, which collectively raised over $30 million in their series rounds, have generated over 200,000 traffic and transaction engagements during their gameplay sessions after integrating the Mirror World SDK. Mirror World points out that “Sonic offers inherently embedded tools for payment and settlement structure, as well as vital user engagement tools for successful Web3 game creation. According to Chris Zhu, Mirror World's CEO, the company has worked with hundreds of games in the Web3 ecosystem to support their monetization and listing. Zhu added that Sonic aims to enhance the Solana Gaming Ecosystem, handling millions of game requests per second and settling them on Solana L1. Another offering from Mirror World, the Smart Marketplace SDK, allows developers to install a proprietary nonfungible token marketplace within their decentralized apps for a monthly fee of $299, subject to a cap of $1 million in monthly transaction volume. Although Solana has advanced to become one of the top five blockchains by market cap with an annual gain of 824%, gaming activities on Solana have trailed those on Ethereum. However, Solana is garnering momentum in other sectors. In February, Solana reached a record-breaking $5 billion in nonfungible token sales.
