In a recent poll addressing the relevance of cryptocurrency in the 2024 United States Presidential Election, approximately 73% of respondents expressed the necessity for candidates to be well-versed in emergent technologies. This poll carried out by The Harris Poll, on behalf of Grayscale Investments, saw a majority of the 2,090 adults surveyed firmly affirming the need for presidential candidates to be knowledgeable on cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and cryptocurrency. This online poll took place from November 27th to the 29th. Certain presidential candidates, amongst them Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, have positioned digital assets at the core of their electoral campaigns. However, it is not yet certain that this issue will feature prominently in the mainstage debates once the nominees have been chosen. According to current predictions, there is a possibility that Democratic lead contender and current U.S. President Joe Biden will compete against Republican front-runner and ex-President Donald Trump, depending on Trump's ability to overcome 91 felony charges and state ballot issues. In the Grayscale survey, they affirmed cryptocurrency's relevance to American voters in the upcoming 2024 elections, with roughly a quarter of participants calling attention to inflation as the nation’s most urgent issue. Approximately 40% of participants already acquainted with cryptocurrency said they would be more inclined to acquire Bitcoin given current inflation and economic trends. Conversely, a similar proportion of respondents with no cryptocurrency knowledge expressed less interest. Grayscale noted that historical periods of inflation and economic instability have driven interest in investments such as Bitcoin. They added that those familiar with Bitcoin perceive it as a significant asset, indicating that more comprehensive education is required to aid mainstream audiences in understanding new technologies like Bitcoin, thereby facilitating wider adoption. January will see New Hampshire conducting one of the first primary votes for the 2024 U.S. presidential elections, offering an early insight into the election's potential direction on November 5th. The ‘Stand With Crypto’ campaign organized a presidential forum in the state on December 4th, although only three candidates, who are widely considered to be outsiders for nominations from their respective parties, attended.
