The enterprise-centered networking site, LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, has recently revealed the launch of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities designed to support job recruiters in their candidate search. On October 3, LinkedIn stated that it was initiating the trial for its 'Recruiter 2024', a tool powered by AI to enhance the recruitment process. With this tool, recruiters will be capable of leveraging 'natural language' queries to unearth prospective candidates within the platform. Furthermore, the tool can be utilized for constructing job advertising campaigns. Speaking at the Talent Connect Summit in New York, LinkedIn's CEO, Ryan Roslansky, stressed that there is a persistent need for innovative strategies, a void that AI can effectively fill. The AI revolution would be a crucial component in devising these new methodologies, he added. Along with the AI-based recruitment tool, LinkedIn has also introduced AI-enhanced coaching in its Learning section. This AI functionality will enable content personalization and provide timely advice related to user's career goals. Over the previous year, the platform has noticed a significant surge of 65% in demand for its AI-oriented courses. Currently, these sophisticated AI-empowered recruitment and learning tools will be accessible to a limited audience, with broader distribution planned later this year. LinkedIn, Microsoft-owned, reportedly uses technology developed by OpenAI, an organization that has received Microsoft's backing. OpenAI is also acknowledged for its contribution to creating the widely recognized AI-enabled chatbot Chat-GPT, which LinkedIn has used to fabricate its AI features. In May, LinkedIn released AI-augmented messages targeted at recruiters and has since reported a time-saving efficiency of 74% as indicated by users. This move places LinkedIn among a growing number of companies that are seamlessly integrating AI-driven applications in their functioning. On September 27, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, revealed his company's response to Chat-GPT, dubbed Meta AI, a brand new AI chat assistant. The Meta AI assistant is designated to be incorporated within several Meta-owned applications, which includes Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
