Rex Wong, CEO of the platform, told Cointelegraph that creators and personalities could assert full ownership of their AI personas through the platform's verified AI registry, which he described as a public ledger that makes verified AI identities available for public access via the blockchain.
Creators who have confirmed identities will receive a blue verification badge granting them control over the usage of their digital identity, with revenue generated from any licensing of the AI persona. Wong mentioned to Cointelegraph that the platform offers services akin to identity theft credit protection but with a specific focus on digital AI identities. The service will notify users of any unauthorized use of their AI persona and assist in curbing the implications and spread of deep fakes. Furthermore, Wong added that Hollo.AI aims to aid users after detecting unauthorized use by offering assistance in resolving fraud occurrences.
He emphasized the importance of "empowerment" in a era where digital identities are easily duplicated and misused without authorization. After creating their AI persona, or "digital twin," on the platform, the AI continues to learn and create a more robust digital identity based on the user's social connections submitted to the platform.
Meanwhile, as Hollo.AI strives to address the challenges of AI transparency and ethical AI usage, other entities and platforms are also exploring these issues. YouTube has recently updated its community guidelines to include increased AI transparency measures. Moreover, the SAG-AFTRA entertainment industry union is on the brink of settling final terms with significant Hollywood studios regarding the use of AI-generated "digital twins" for their actors, following a 118-day strike— with AI usage being a central contention.
