The Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) in Dubai has granted a conditional license to the platform AYA, run by Enjinstarter, for the provision of crypto asset and investment services. Enjinstarter, which is a Web3 launchpad and advisory firm, received this crypto license on December 11 by the Dubai office, though it comes with certain conditions that must be satisfied before services can begin. Once all conditions set by VARA, the Dubai regulator, have been met, the platform will undergo a regulatory re-verification and approval. According to the announcement: "The license shall remain non-operational until all remaining conditions and specified localization requirements imposed by VARA are fully met." Enjinstarter has yet to comment on the outstanding regulatory requirements. However, the company's co-founder and CEO, Prakash Somosundram, conveyed in the official announcement the company's commitment to fulfilling the procedure mapped out by VARA. AYA is a launchpad centered on climate, supporting innovations linked to sustainability, such as reforestation, sustainable agriculture, nature credits, and mangrove preservation. Beyond acting as a financial platform for environmentally friendly initiatives, AYA offers assistance to climate action dedicated projects through blockchain and Web3 infrastructure. As AYA works towards satisfying VARA's prerequisites for an active license, the company disclosed its ongoing partnership with UAE-based The Storey Group to plant mangroves in Dubai. Detailing the company's commitment to combating climate change, Vasseh Ahmed, the managing director of Enjinstarter MENA stated, โOur goal is to work with founders and projects offering a unique proposal within our main areas of focus, helping them craft their product narrative, raise financing, and initiate their projects.โ Speaking in a recent Cointelegraph interview, VARA managing director and vice chair, Deepa Raja Carbon, disclosed the regulator's dedication to staying agile and cooperative in order to efficiently and promptly address market demands. Carbon also discussed VARA's consultative and cooperative method that involves discussions with a varied group of stakeholders, such as innovators, industry leaders, legislators, and peer regulators. "We have ensured our guidelines are detailed and reflect the market needs and realities. Through collaboration with established Dubai entities like DET and DFZC for Mainland as well as various free zones, we have developed a unified and interchangeable framework," she concluded.
