Algoine News
Summary:
The DFINITY Foundation, a Swiss non-profit and a key contributor to the Internet Computer blockchain, has introduced the Olympus Acceleration Platform. As the first decentralized, on-chain web3 accelerator, it enables global teams to establish and rollout their accelerator programs. Unlike traditional programs, Olympus provides a universal platform, bringing together talent, projects, investors, and mentors to offer opportunities to all qualified projects in a trustless marketplace. It will also feature a "trustless perpetual loop" for on-chain validation of growth metrics. Web3Labs and various VC funds supported Olympus's development.
The DFINITY Foundation, a non-profit Swiss organization and significant contributor to the Internet Computer blockchain, has launched the Olympus Acceleration Platform. A press statement reveals that Olympus is the pioneering decentralized, on-chain web3 accelerator. DFINITY claims it to be a unique platform, which will enable global teams to establish and roll out their accelerator programs. The Olympus' "Open Stake" model, which allows unfiltered interaction, unlimited integrations and inclusivity among projects, mentors, and investors, sets it apart from other similar programs, describes the Foundation. DFINITY Founder and Chief Scientist, Dominic Williams, portrays Olympus as a universal platform. He said that by creating a web3-based global platform, top-notch talent, projects, investors, and mentors can come together to form a trustworthy and unbiased marketplace, which provides equal opportunities to all qualified projects. He further added that many traditional accelerator programs operate in isolation, are permissioned, unsustainable and grant dependent. Olympus on the other hand serves as a new model. Reportedly, the platform will have a "trustless perpetual loop", which DFINITY describes as offering on-chain validation of critical project growth metrics, using the architecture of the Internet Computer Protocol. The Internet Computer is a decentralized computing platform that uses blockchain technology to run software directly on the internet. The supporters of the Internet Computer are on a mission to democratize online infrastructure and promote a more open, fair digital ecosystem. Hong Kong's Web3Labs offered their support, along with mentorship and additional assistance from investors and partners at VC funds, in developing Olympus. These include names like Fenbushi Capital, Fundamental Labs, Softbank Vision Fund, NewTribe Capital, Cypher Capital, Bitcoin Frontier Fund, Summer Ventures, L2IV, Dext Force Ventures, Leadblock Partners, viaBTC Capital, Cipholio Ventures, Chiron Group, 3X Capital, Plutus.VC, and others.
