CryptoPunk NFT Holders Can Now Procure Physical Prints via Avant Arte and Yuga Labs Collaboration
Summary:
CryptoPunk NFT owners now have the opportunity to obtain physical prints of their digital art. The offer arises from a collaboration between digital art platform Avant Arte and CryptoPunks brand owner Yuga Labs. Two versions of the physical collection are available: "Punk-On-Chain" for confirmed Punk owners, and the "10,000 On-Chain," available to everyone. Both have unique features and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
CryptoPunk nonfungible token (NFT) owners have a unique opportunity to acquire tangible copies of their virtual artworks, as per an announcement on October 26th. This offer emerged from a collaboration between the digital fine art platform Avant Arte and Yuga Labs, the proprietor of the CryptoPunks brand. The sales period, strictly confined to 48 hours, commenced at 3:00 pm UTC on October 26th and will terminate at the same time on October 28th.
Two distinct physical renderings of the CryptoPunks collection are available for purchase on Avant Arte. One is named "Punk-On-Chain," allowing each Punk owner to request a physical replication of every digital CryptoPunk they possess. Nevertheless, verification of possession is a prerequisite to secure their print version, therefore, non-owners of the on-chain avatar are ineligible to acquire the tangible counterpart.
The other edition is labeled as the "10,000 On-Chain," an inclusive print collection encapsulating all 10,000 CryptoPunks, available to all. Ownership of the initial digital version isn't necessary for purchase in this case.
The distinction between the two physical renditions is rooted in their characteristic features. For instance, the "10,000 On-Chain" prints employ archival pigment prints adorned with a silkscreen varnish seal, whereas the "Punks-On-Chain" models utilize UV pigment prints with white underpinning. All versions of each Punk come with a holographic sticker from Yuga Labs to confirm their authenticity.
Each "Punk-On-Chain" commodity is fitted with a QR code at the rear, directing to a blockchain-supported digital Certificate of Authenticity (CoA). Conversely, the "10,000 On-Chain" prints are accompanied by a physical CoA embedding a QR code directing to the digital CoA but it is absent on the actual print.
CryptoPunks, pioneer amongst automatized art collections distributed via blockchain, was established by Larva Labs and unveiled in June 2017. Originally, they were offered free of charge to any interested Ethereum network user for minting. Currently, the least expensive CryptoPunks are priced around $78,000, with the collection as a whole boasting a market cap exceeding $782 million, per CoinGecko data. Yuga Labs obtained the copyrights for CryptoPunks from the creating team, Larva Labs, in March 2022.
