Crypto Education Initiatives Gain Momentum as Interest in Blockchain Grows
Summary:
Crypto-focused educational initiatives are gaining momentum with plans from the Women in Tech Global Summit 2024 to use Unstoppable Domains to foster a tech-literate community among women. KuCoin and Bitget cryptocurrency exchanges are spearheading efforts to educate young adults about the blockchain space and digital finance. Former Binance Co-founder Changpeng Zhao is also championing education with his recent project, Giggle Academy.
Crypto-focused educational initiatives are growing in number as the cryptocurrency field expands. The Women in Tech Global Summit 2024 recently publicized their plans to use top-level domain technology from Unstoppable Domains. They will launch .WITG, a digital identity domain, where participants can interact and learn about overlapping fields such as blockchain and AI. The new domain aims to create a stronger community and identity among women in technology, providing opportunities for networking, mentorship, and collaboration.
In a recent poll conducted by cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin, 88% of participants from around the globe expressed keen interest in pursuing careers in the blockchain sector, signaling high interest in the Web3 field. However, most respondents lacked more than three years of relevant experience. In response to this demand, KuCoin has initiated the KuCoin Campus, where they hold offline events at educational institutions worldwide, aimed at educating students about digital finance.
In similar fashion, Bitget, another cryptocurrency exchange, saw a turnout of over 6,000 participants on its Blockchain4Youth initiative's first anniversary. Participating institutions such as the National Taiwan University's Blockchain Club and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, among others, issued over 2,000 Web3 certificates to those who completed the courses and passed the exams. The exchange aims to attract more young participants through scholarships, online courses and visible figures in the crypto industry. The program will continue until May 2028.
Former Binance Co-founder and ex-CEO, Changpeng Zhao is also focusing on education since stepping down last November. He actively promotes his latest educational project, Giggle Academy, which strives to represent youth, positivity, growth, and a reflection of Binance. He acknowledges the need to increase development capacity once the initiative scales further. Previously, the Léonard de Vinci Centre in Paris' business district launched the pioneering Institute of Crypto-Assets, a scientific board overseen by industry contributors like Ledger co-founder Nicolas Bacca and Paymium founder Pierre Noizat.
