Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned football celebrity from Portugal, has unveiled plans for his fourth non-fungible token (NFT) collection, developed in collaboration with Binance. This latest collection, due to be unveiled on the Binance NFT Marketplace on May 29, is a tribute to Ronaldo's impressive career, showcasing important highlights. Cristiano Ronaldo mentioned in a blog post by Binance that his football journey has taken him worldwide, enabling him to play for many esteemed clubs, and now he's inviting others to join him on his trek. It will only be at launch that the total number of NFTs included in this new collection is revealed, and the price hasn't been disclosed yet. However, the blog informed that the price for each "Normal NFT" will be the same while the final "Super Rare NFT" in the collection will have a different price tag. Previous NFT events with Cristiano Ronaldo have been linked with exclusive bonuses, including a premium experience where token owners got the opportunity to play football with the football legend, as part of the Binance promotion. According to a report by Cointelegraph in November 2023, Ronaldo was sued in a class-action lawsuit in a U.S. district court in Florida related to his prior engagement in NFT collection sales with Binance. The lawsuit accused Ronaldo of promoting, assisting, and taking part in the sale of unregistered securities in conjunction with Binance and claimed he should have known Binance's involvement in such activities. This lawsuit stemmed from Binance’s earlier legal challenges, ultimately culminating in the guilty verdict against founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao in the U.S. for facilitating fraud. He was given a four-month detention sentence in April 2024 for his involvement in an alleged money-laundering scheme.
