In a landmark five-year agreement, The Coca-Cola Company and Microsoft have joined forces to enhance the use of artificial intelligence (AI) across diverse business operations. Coca‑Cola has devoted $1.1 billion to Microsoft Cloud, harnessing its generative AI and cloud computing prowess. As revealed in an April 23 statement, the partnership will focus on the combine exploration of Azure OpenAI Service and other technologies to boost innovative AI applications across several business sectors. They will further experiment with Microsoft's AI assistant, Microsoft Copilot 365, to analyze its potential to boost workplace efficiency. Coca-Cola has transferred all its applications onto the Microsoft Azure platform in line with the initiative. Leveraging Azure OpenAI Service, Coca-Cola is currently investigating the potential of AI-powered digital assistants to enhance performance metrics related to customer experiences and streamline operations and efficiency. The AI collaboration between Coca-Cola and Microsoft dates back to 2020, commencing with a contract valued at $250 million. Meanwhile, on April 9, Microsoft AI Executive Vice President and CEO Mustafa Suleyman announced the corporation's plan for a "noteworthy, enduring investment" in the United Kingdom as recruitment in the region begins. He stated, in his blog, that the U.K. is a repository of a vast pool of AI expertise and talent, thus Microsoft AI aims to engage top AI scientists and engineers in this fresh AI hub. His remarks coincided with his announcement of the establishment of an AI hub in the U.K., focusing on the development of AI language models and infrastructure.
