Announced on June 25 by the TON Community, Adsgram provides a variety of advertising formats which includes 15-second video ads, static banners and forthcoming channel subscriptions. Adsgram's advertising system supports basic ad payment structures, including cost per thousand impressions (CPM) and cost per mille, alongside tracking click-through rates, conversions and fill rates.
Developers of TON mini-apps can potentially earn up to $16 CPM in Toncoin. As per an overview circulated on Adsgram's official channel, the platform’s network already tallied up to 8 million impressions on a daily basis as of May 2024. The network at launch features various mini-apps like Gamee and Fonton Fantasy Football, with most traffic sourced from several countries, among those, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Germany. Tier-1 exchanges, TON-based games and services, and gambling from TON are some of Adsgram's advertisers. The platform offers developers CPMs that range between 0.5 TON ($3.8) and 2 TON ($16), contingent upon the targeted audience.
Adsgram co-founder, Vadim Sterlin, conveyed that the new advertising platform is aspiring to tackle the monetization glitch in the game finance (GameFi) sector on Telegram and within the TON network. In February, Sterlin shared on the Adsgram channel about the challenge faced when monetizing their game, Fantongamebot, noting the absence of ways for publishers to earn advertising revenue aside from direct ad sales.
Supported by a $50,000 grant from the TON Foundation for its development, Adsgram was officially launched after a few months of releasing its minimum viable product. In early April, Adsgram initiated its first advertisements via an alpha test with the game Fanton Fantasy Football, also known as Fantongamebot, which was founded by Sterlin.
The launch of Adsgram has seen a significant increase in activities within the TON network, with the total value secured across various TON projects escalating by 4,500% up until now in 2024. The native cryptocurrency of TON, Toncoin, has likewise been reaching new peaks in the last few months, hitting $8.17 on June 14, as per CoinGecko statistics.
