AI Firm Rabbit Denies Accusations of Involvement in NFT Scam, Defends Rebranding and Founder

Algoine News
Summary:
Artificial intelligence company Rabbit has dismissed allegations made by YouTube investigator Stephen Findeisen. Accused of playing a role in a non-fungible token scam and attempting to conceal it, the company contends that their transition and rebranding from Cyber Manufacture Co. has always been transparent. Firmly stating that their Gama project and Rabbit are independent endeavors, they highlighted that the majority of their staff was hired post their rebranding. Additionally, the company has defended its founder and CEO, Jesse Lyu, against accusations of not meeting commitments for the Gama project, citing his entrepreneurial history. Their recent product, the Rabbit R1, has received positive user responses with over 600,000 interactions generated in its first month itself.
Rabbit, an artificial intelligence (AI) firm, refuted a number of claims by YouTube investigator Stephen Findeisen, insisting that their shift towards AI and rebranding have always been transparently communicated. Findeisen, also known as “Coffeezilla,” recently levelled accusations against Rabbit, alleging that they had a hand in a nonfungible token (NFT) scam which they are now trying to cover. He specifically highlighted Rabbit’s quiet transition from its original name, Cyber Manufacture Co. Additionally, Findeisen accused Jesse Lyu, Rabbit AI’s founder and CEO, of not delivering on promises made to supporters of the Gama NFT project. While speaking about Rabbit’s latest product, Rabbit R1 AI, he labelled it as excessively hyped, equating it to the alleged NFT scam. A representative from Rabbit, however, rebutted these claims in a statement to Cointelegraph, contending that Gama and Rabbit are separate entities operating under the same umbrella. Drawing from a 2023 tech media article, the representative emphasized that they had previously announced Rabbit’s transition from Cyber Manufacturing Co. Moreover, they asserted that a majority of Rabbit's team came on board post this rebranding, noting that over 80% of current staff joined after December 2023. Asserting that the Gama project had officially closed before it was made open-source, the representative further defended Lyu against Findeisen’s allegations. They stated, “Jesse strongly rejects Coffeezilla’s claims that he and the Gama team were dishonest about the project’s open-sourcing, which was backed by investors, and his shift to AI hardware”. Highlighting Lyu’s entrepreneurial track record, the spokesperson stated that the CEO had been involved in various initiatives, including Gama, but it ended before Rabbit's inception. They further added, “Companies pivot all the time”. On the subject of Findeisen's remarks on Rabbit R1, the company's spokesperson reported positive user feedback, noting that daily use cases are being received. They claimed that the AI product, received by 10,000 users, has processed over 600,000 interactions within the past month. They added that ongoing user feedback is being addressed through updates and the roll out of new features.
