This set, christened as “Forever Worldwide: The Road to Saudi Arabia”, encapsulates his journey from an ambitious teenager in Madeira to his consequential roles at Manchester United and Real Madrid. The collection launches today on Binance and will exhibit a variety of NFT memorabilia generated by artists from diverse phases of Ronaldo’s career.
Cointelegraph further illuminated the aspects of this venture during a conversation with Binance’s Sarah Dale, the Head of Brand Partnerships. The project saw artists from Madeira, Lisbon, Manchester, Madrid, Turin, Saudi Arabia and Portugal create distinct NFT designs. Ronaldo emphasized that the objective of the collection was to provide his supporters unparalleled digital art illustrating his career's key moments, serving as a medium to offer unforgettable memories: “When the artists can authentically depict the emotions from each turning point, it gives this experience a more poignant feel, and as NFTs, these memories from my career can be eternal.”
Dale added that Ronaldo has been genuinely engaging with fans during previous partnerships, with this new collection also facilitating some NFT owners the opportunity to share an on-set celebration with Ronaldo in Riyadh. “Ronaldo absolutely loves interacting with his followers. We give him scripts, but he genuinely connects with them in his own way. His most enjoyable moments are when his fans were present on set,” elaborated Dale.
Being launched in two stages prior to the 2024/2025 football season, the “Forever Worldwide” selection’s first series was introduced on May 29, featuring NFT artworks from Madeira, Lisbon and Manchester from artists Katt Phatt and Rodrigo Doin, along with John Sheehan of Manchester. The series set to release on June 6 consists of pieces representing Madrid, Turin and Saudi Arabia, created by Lisett Ledón, Pasquale Garibaldi and Shaker Kashgari respectively, portraying Ronaldo’s tenure at Al-Nassr FC.
There are seven “exceptionally rare NFTs” in this collection by Portuguese street artist Mr. Dheo, planned for auction later in June, to honour Ronaldo’s extensive career with the Portugal national team. The NFT collection brings many real-life rewards for collectors including vintage jerseys, football tickets, signed posters, and a chance for certain collectors to ask personal questions to Cristiano in custom videos. Dale also mentioned the seven super rare Portugal NFTs come with an exclusive meet-and-greet experience with Ronaldo, including a trip to see a Riyadh match and a unique on-set goal celebration with the star.
